Emmaline Payette (b. 1987) is a multi-disciplinary artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Emmaline’s artistic vision is rooted in her academic background in Environmental Anthropology. She uses recycled materials and living plants to create installations that explore the interconnectedness of culture and ecology. Beyond her studio and installation practice, her work relies on direct engagement: from reaching out to her immediate community for recycled materials to seed bombing vacant lots. Emmaline is also embedding her work directly into the broader human environment by tattooing stick drawings by hand onto humans, creating a distinct network. Recently, Emmaline has shown work with Sunday Sessions at MoMA PS1, SVA and NARS Foundation.
